Groundbreaking international report on primary cause of eczema supersedes established medical opinion

A defective skin barrier is the primary cause of eczema, not the immune system, as previously thought.

This is according to new evidence highlighting the pivotal role of the skin barrier in eczema and the effects of genes and the environment on skin barrier breakdown.

To shed light on this breakthrough finding and the importance of an Eczema Control Plan, interview leading Australian dermatologists on Tuesday, 17 October (the launch of Eczema Awareness Week).
