Dr George Biro is a former GP / Anaesthesist. He has published the Herpes Handbook (in Health Book series) and a more recent, revised version for Good Medicine magazine.
Dr Biro has published a monthly column on the history of medicine in Australian Doctor magazine for 14 years. He has produced ‘How to treat’ in depth clinical guides for headache, stroke, dementia, delirium, alcoholism, bereavement, suicide, corticosteroids etc) for Australian Doctor magazine.
He has written articles for PathWay, a quarterly magazine published by the Royal College of Pathologists and has co-jointly published three anthologies of light articles on the history of medicine with Dr Jim Leavesley, entitled What Killed Jane Austen?; How Isaac Newton Lost His Marbles and Flies in the Ointment – all with HarperCollins.
Dr Biro has also had articles published in The Medical Journal of Australia, Community Health Studies and Australian Clinical Review.
